‘Carrickfergus Women’s Wine Drinking Club,’ is the fourth play Maria Connolly wrote during the pandemic and it’s time to put these Carrick Ladies on a stage!
Inspired by the brilliant women in Carrick she decided to write a comedy, with hope, self-belief and love between women at its core.
The message in the play is clear: it is never too late to be great, to follow your dreams, to embrace your cultural tastes, to allow yourself to have huge aspirational dreams, regardless of your postcode and after everything that we've been through, all that truly matters is accepting what you’ve been given in life and learning how to deal with it.
Plays take many different routes to make it to a full production. Performing the play as a live, rehearsed reading in the centre of Carrickfergus, will be the first public outing of the play and a chance for to take it to the next level.
We have an amazing cast of brilliant actors including Marty Maguire, Louise Parker, Katie Tumelty and Marie Jones! The event will be a bring your own, in a bistro setting in the Carrickfergus Town Hall.
It will be a brilliant night full of laughter (and wine!) that will certainly brighten those January blues and who knows, you might even decide to go home and treat your own palate (not that kind of pallet!) by making your own bottle of Chateau-du-Carrickfergus!
