The Go Succeed Start team hosts this in-person enterprise
support clinic, designed to provide aspiring entrepreneurs and early-stage business owners with expert guidance to master Finance Fundamentals: The Meaning Behind the Numbers.
This support clinic offers a gentle introduction to finance and financial fundamentals, exploring the meaning of the terms, the primary financial statements including income statements (profit and loss), statements of
financial position (balance sheet) and cashflow statements, and finally identifying the key information these Primary Financial Statements provide.
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
Understand Basic Financial Terminology:
Define and explain key financial terms and concepts.
Recognise the importance of finance in various contexts.
Comprehend and Interpret Primary Financial Statements:
Income Statement: Identify and explain the components of an income statement.
Analyse revenue, expenses, and net income to determine profitability.
Balance Sheet: Identify and explain the components of a balance sheet.
Understand the relationship between assets, liabilities, and equity.
Interpret cash flows from operating, investing, and financing activities to assess liquidity.
Extract Key Information from Financial Statements:
Gain insights into a company’s financial performance and position.
Use financial statements to identify trends and make informed decisions.
Learn how to calculate and interpret these ratios.
Use ratios to evaluate a company’s financial health and performance.
Apply Knowledge to Practical Scenarios:
Develop the ability to read and analyse financial statements.

Understand the implications of financial information for personal and business finance.

This Go Succeed workshop is open to all individuals in the early stages of their business, located in the Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council area and neighbouring Council areas and facilitated by the
team at Lisburn Enterprise Organisation.
