Foyle Maritime Festival 2024
The Foyle Maritime Festival 2024 will take place over 4 days this summer, from Thursday 27th until Sunday 30th June 2024. Renowned as one of the largest maritime events to occur in Ireland and the UK, this bi-annual event attracted approximately 175,000 attendees in 2022, appealing to local, regional, national and international visitors.
Applauded for its ambitious and dynamic programme of events on and off the water, the award-winning festival is located alongside the River Foyle in the heart of Derry city. The festival footprint spans 1.5 miles long with a range of themed zones and performance spaces throughout, all set to a magical backdrop of live music, animation, markets, visiting ships and boats, fantastic food and bespoke keynote events.
Festival Theme
For 2024 the theme of the festival is ‘Beyond Blue’ which aims to encourage society to look beyond the beautiful aesthetics of our oceans and seas, and to explore the power and possibilities that these natural resources offer today’s society within the context of sustainability and the environment. Inviting society to look at things from a different perspective, the festival will champion thinking ‘outside the box - go beyond blue’ to find new ways to meet the needs of the modern world, without further impacting climate change.

Mags McAlpin founder of Creating Retail Magic, a specialist visual merchandising, event theming and retail mentoring service.
An award-winning professional Visual Merchandiser and business mentor with many years of experience in design, sales, window dressing, retail interiors and themed events, Mags holds a BA in Visual Merchandising and is the only Fellow of the British Display Society in Northern Ireland.
Mags is passionate about helping independent business owners, social enterprises and local authorities enhance their creative approach in creating a magical customer experience for their own brand, product and service.
